Amazon acquires Zappos for $800 million in stocks and cash.

Amazon acquires Zappos for $800 million in stocks and cash.

Amazon continues their buying spree by purchasing the mammoth online footwear retailer Zappos. This after their recent acquisition of SnapTell Inc. a visual product search company. The plan is to keep Zappos management in place, and allow the Zappos brand to grow independently. If you don’t know, Zappos has been dominating the online retailing of footwear, mainly by offering free shipping and a flexible return policy. That coupled with the high morality from employees makes them a magnificent company and nearly a sure winning situation for Amazon.
